3 Days / 2 Nights

This type of tourism is still rare in Cusco, but our company is committed to promoting responsible and inclusive travel that benefits local communities. The Province of Acomayo is one of the most underserved areas in the Cusco region, and due to its remote location, it receives very few visitors.
For the people of Acomayo, welcoming travelers is not only a source of income — it’s a true honor and opportunity for cultural exchange. By participating in their daily activities and customs, you’ll gain insight into authentic Andean life while making a meaningful impact in a place where your presence is truly valued.

Rural tourism in Acomayo Province 3 days 2 nights

Embark on a transformative 3-day journey to the heart of the Province of Acomayo, where nature, history, and community come together in a deeply enriching cultural experience. This immersive adventure invites you to live alongside local families, participate in age-old Andean traditions, and discover the rhythm of rural life far from the tourist crowds.

Throughout your stay, you’ll engage in meaningful activities like farming, weaving, cooking traditional meals, and sharing stories with your hosts. Explore sacred sites, witness the power of local rituals, and gain a profound understanding of Andean cosmovision.

Each day is carefully designed to create a real human connection and unforgettable memories. This is more than a trip — it’s a genuine encounter with the spirit of the Andes.

Itinerary

Day 1Cultural Route to Acomayo – Tipón, Pikillacta & Community Welcome

We begin your journey with a hotel pickup in Cusco, heading southeast toward the beautiful southern valley. Along the way, we will visit two fascinating archaeological sites:

Tipón, known for its impressive Inca hydraulic engineering, and

Pikillacta, a pre-Inca city built by the Wari civilization.

After guided tours of these ancient sites, we continue our journey to the rural communities of Santo Domingo and Huarasayco. Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly welcomed by a local family and introduced to the traditions and lifestyle of the community.

For the night, you’ll have the unique opportunity to either camp under the stars or enjoy a homestay with a local family, offering a truly immersive experience in the heart of the Andes.

Day 2A Day in the Life of Andean Farmers

We rise early to join the family in the traditional milking of their flock, an authentic glimpse into rural life. After sharing a hearty breakfast with your hosts, prepare to head out to the fields where you’ll observe and participate in daily agricultural activities—whether planting, harvesting, or communal work.

Following a rewarding morning immersed in the land and its rhythms, enjoy a well-deserved break. In the afternoon, we gather firewood together, preparing for a special night under the stars.

As darkness falls, we light a fire and step outside to marvel at the breathtaking Andean night sky—a perfect moment to reflect and connect. Afterwards, return to the family home for a cozy o

Day 3Nature and Community at Posqoccocha Lagoon

After breakfast, we’ll drive to the stunning Posqoccocha Lagoon, where you’ll have the chance to fish and swim in its clear, refreshing waters.

If you wish to make a positive impact during your visit, you can join our community social project dedicated to preserving the environment by cleaning the rivers and lagoons. Together, we will collect plastic waste and bottles, helping to protect this beautiful ecosystem.

In the afternoon, we’ll begin our journey back to Cusco, arriving around 7:00 PM, concluding a meaningful and memorable experience.
